Buffy Comic Book. Yay!

I just read the first issue of The Long Way Home and I am just giddy! Xander is so my Xander. He's in charge and geeky and worried about Dawn and Buffy getting along. And he's hot. What's not to like about that? I don't want to spoil the comic for anyone else, so I won't snicker too explicitly at Dawn or cheer in any detail about the Big Bad. But I am one happy fangirl. Thanks you, Joss! Your dialogue still rocks my world.

Oh, definitely glad to hear an opinion on this! I probably won't get my hands on a copy anytime soon, but I've been intrigued since I saw the lovely cover art ::remains smitten with its gorgeousness:: Good to hear that it's enjoyable beyond the pretty pictures though!

It's been heralded as Buffy Season 8, and I know there's going to be plenty of criticism that it just isn't the same as the show. But really, it has the distinctive wit we know and love, the angst and misadventure mixed with humor and bonding, the knowledge that something bad is *always* coming. I liked it. But I like comic books in general, so I was already predisposed towards it. I had to try two comic book stores before I got ahold of it, as my usual store (which has the worst customer service in the entire industry) ran out without saving me a copy. Let me know what you think when you eventually read it.
