Sometimes when I'm trying to get to sleep at night, I compose descriptions and scenes in my head. That's where that description of Spike came from. ( I keep hoping it will influence my dreams, but no luck so far.)
I'm hoping to write more in this 'verse, so I'm very glad you enjoyed it. :o)
