So, after Keiron snaps at John Paul for saying too much about him to Hannah, they meet up in the McQueen's kitchen, where Mercy throws herself at Keiron. John Paul pulls her aside and tells her to quit. She leaves, and John Paul tells Kieron maybe he'd be better of with Mercedes, who wouldn't open her fat gob and tell everyone she has the hots for a priest. Keiron apologizes for jumping to conclusions the day before and takes John Paul's hand. John Paul snatches his hand away and accuses Keiron of "doing his head in." He leaves.
Later, at the Dog, Kieron talks to Frankie, who's been worried about Charlie's immortal soul, should he die unbaptized. She says her kids don't believe in God and her son is gay, but she still wanst to protect Charlie, just in case. Keiron agrees to baptize him. Then he takes his beer over to John Paul's table and sits with him. He asks if John Paul knew about Frankie having a gay son, and John Paul says yes, that he was his "special friend." He complains that he always falls for guys he can't have. Keiron says, "I'm not saying you can't have me." John Paul replies, "Your dog collar says it for you."
Keiron, heart in his eyes, says he preaches about a loving, forgiving God every day. Surely that God didn't bring them together just to test Keiron. Surely they're supposed to touch and kiss and hold each other. Tentative smile from John Paul.
Later, Keiron goes to the hospital to baptise Charlie (Darren and Steph are God-parents), and Joh Paul finds a sobbing Nancy at the laundrette (is that the right word? We call them laundromats over here). John Paul goes with Nancy to see Charlie, and they walk in on the baptism. Nancy yells, and Keiron makes her leave.
John Paul is sitting on the sofa at the McQueen's when Kieron comes in. Keiron asks if they're alone, and John Paul says they're never alone. God is always with them. He says he never really got it before. He always thought of the other man as just Keiron, who happens to pray a lot. But seeing him in his priestly vestiments at the hospital made him realize how serious the vows he took are. And John Paul doesn't want to be the cause of him breaking them.
Kieron tells John Paul he can't stop thinking about him. Knowing he's on the other side of the wall at night, he wants to break through it and be with John Paul. John Paul says he should find a new place to live.
I think that's about it. Keiron was really emotional and hot for John Paul, though. Nice to see. And John Paul was trying to do the right thing, despite his own desires.
