Okay, so I just saw David Kawena's art, in which he takes Disney heroes and re-imagines them as pin up boys, and I think it's brilliant. Should I be icked at the sexualizing of images of my childhood? 'Cause I'm not. I'm amazed by the skill with which he did this, keeping their faces and body types on model while giving them entirely non-Disney attitudes and poses. The one in my icon is Prince Phillip, from Sleeping Beauty.

Seriously, go check these out. You'll never look at Lilo and Stitch the same way again.

I know! I just goggled at them for a while, but they're so good. I've seen some horrendous art involving various princesses and heroines, and it's usually 1)completely tasteless in subject matter, and 2) really poorly executed. These, though, are done incredibly well, and while they are overtly sexual, they aren't ... nasty.
